"The Equestrians" our 4-H group for Minnehaha County
We started this group "The Equestrians" in 1999 with a handful of parents and students has grown to 15 in our current group. Most of our students own their own horse, however we do lease some of our Arabians to children that do not have that privledge and it is just a wonderful program.
We rode in the Loyality Day Parade a year before in support of our troups and veterns.
2010 Schedule:
4-H Horse Judging: TBA
4-H Saftey Training Clinic: TBA
Riding Practice: Monday nights, 6:30pm at the stable beginning April TBA.
Loyal Day Parade: First Sunday in May
Club 4-H Horse Show: June TBA, start 10am, Saturday 4-H Horse Show open to all 4-H kids, potluck to follow. Excellent way to meet all the other 4-H members.

4-H Fun Day: This is our end of the year Fun Day for our group. We start out with games played on their horses, flag race, candy bar race (involving cool whip) it's a lot of fun. Then we trail ride and hay ride for all the parents and siblings that do not ride a horse on the farm and have a potluck cook out and then we camp over night (parents too) making smore's by the campfire. It's a lot of fun. We are having this September 6, 2008 which will wrap up our year with new sign up being the first week of October when we start over again.
U.S. Arabian Nationals: Youth Judging Team If you would like to help sponsor our Team we ALWAYS need help taking the kids to U.S. Nationals October in Tulsa, OK. Kinsey and I will remain Horse Judging Coach for US Nationals for the 2010 season.

We like to promote and help out anyone who has never had the opportunity to own and ride a horse and spark interest in our community.
In the past we hosted a trail ride to sponsor St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.. if you care to sponsor a child riding.. please contact us, we hope to raise a lot of money for those children with cancer.
4-H FUN DAY is scheduled for September 6, 2008 and if you would like to help sponsor a child for the St. Jude Trail Ride we would love to have your donations.
This year we held a benefit trail ride for one of our own member's parent Bren Olson strickened with a brain tumor.. look for more information on her own page Bren Olson Benefit. The kids raised nearly $3,500. to help this famly and I'm sure we will be hosting another benefit ride in 2010 as well.
