Morgan Vander Beek has joined Glory Bound Arabians for riding lessons in addition she'll be helping out our 4-H group The Equestrians and we are please to welcome her here.


Morgan VanderBeek has been riding and training horses for nearly 13 years, and has experience in nearly every aspect of the horse world. She was an active member of South Dakota 4-H horse, both in and out of the show ring. She showed Saddleseat, Hunt Seat, Trail, Western, and Games, and she also competed in Horse Quiz Bowl, Horse Judging, and Hippology. Morgan even earned the right to compete at the National level in Horse Quiz Bowl and Hippology in Denver, CO at the National Western Stock Show. She placed 9th high individual in the nation in Hippology, and was in the top 20 in Quiz Bowl. In the show ring, Morgan earned Grand Champion in Saddleseat Equitation at the State 4-H Horse show in 2004, as well as the Lincoln County High Point Belt Buckle the same year. She also earned Purple Ribbons at state in Driving, Barrels, Poles, and Showmanship.

 

Since graduating 4-H, Morgan continues to compete in Open horse shows, Ranch Rodeos, Barrel Racing, and even some Breed Shows. She is currently a member of the Arabian Horse Association, AQHA, Pinto Horse Association, and NFQHA (Foundation Quarter Horse Association).  Morgan enjoys showing her Arabians, Pintos, and her husband’s Quarter Horse.

 

Morgan graduated from SDSU in Brookings in 2007 with a degree in Animal Science and a Minor in Equine Science and Management. Her college experiences lead her to taking courses in Equine Health and Disease Management, Equine Breeding and Reproduction, Equine Nutrition, Equine Massage, and Horse Shoeing. She also earned top honors at Little International at SDSU in Collegiate Horse Judging, as well as Grand Champion Horse Showman at SDSU’s 2004 Little International.

 

Morgan has also kept herself active with the 4-H Horse Program, most recently in Pipestone County, MN. She coached the Horse Quiz Bowl, Horse Judging, and Hippology teams for 5 years, leading them to team and individual Champions at both Regional and State levels. Morgan has also given group and private riding lessons to Pipestone County 4-H members, ranging from beginners to advanced Equestrians.
